When you come to Your Market on Sundays, please take some time to check out other things to do in Downtown Milwaukie. You could spend a whole day visiting the businesses in downtown and the lovely parks that ring it.
Eating in downtown: Most downtown restaurants are open during the Market, and offer a range of options from Mexican to Hawaiian to Thai to diner fare. And don’t forget the coffee shops, many of which have sandwiches and pastries, as well as being able to provide your caffeine fix.
There are also a few other small gems of greenspace around downtown:
–Scott Park, with duck pond and amphitheater, tucked away behind the Ledding Library
–Dogwood Park at the south end of Main Street, with a view over McLoughlin to the river – this is also where you can go out on the pedestrian bridge over Kellogg Lake to check for herons and other birds, as well as an occasional otter. Although the path on the other side connecting through Kronberg Park to Hwy 99E at River Road will not be open until the fall of 2018, the view from the dead-end bridge is definitely worth checking out.
The Waldorf School also has a cool playground, and Milwaukie High School has a track and football field, both of which are open to the public outside of school hours.
